PostSubject: Discussing the Demon in the Room   Mon Jun 23, 2014 4:31 am

"And while I've always admired your position on such things Razel, here I'm telling you that this time you are mistaken. I have faith that this program is going to work," Kenshin said as he sat behind the desk of the Tsuchikage's office. It was a position that he had held for several years now, though that wasn't because of any political motive. Like all great Kages, Kenshin was able to win his position through sheer skill and strength. He was a warrior that had fought for his village many times, and that was why he was the most qualified to make the decisions when it came to protecting the village.

"And I'm telling you that you're not thinking this through!" Razel said in earnest. Despite their voices, this was not a fight between Kenshin and Razel, rather it was a discussion in order to best figure out what to do about Team 8. Kenshin had made a decision but so many disagreed with it, Razel felt that it was his duty to bring these arguments before the Tsuchikage before they spread out to the village. "I am your friend Kenshin and I trust your judgment, but this...I don't know myself."

"I will not hold the children back when they can be of such use to us. You know what a Jinchuriki can do, and I'm fine with them becoming stronger and learning control. Better that then letting them run loose and killing everything around them!" Kenshin added as he stood. "All great warriors learn control at some point, it's something that is required by all of those that have strength. You know this as well..."

Razel gave a small nod before bowing. "We will listen Kenshin, but I hope the sensei you picked can deliver. The village is hoping that you picked the right man for this job, or we might all be sorry."

Taiga Mazaki

"And their Sensei is powerful, experienced and expendable if all else fails." Taiga interrupted adding onto what the Tsuchikage was saying. He quickly bowed upon truely entering the room and shutting the door behind himself. "Tsuchikage-sama." Taiga greeted. "Razel-san."

He'd been summoned here by the Tsuchikage himself, and Taiga was well aware of the circumstances. "I'm ready to give my briefing on the Subjects." He wouldn't even give them the dignity of calling them students in front of the Kenshin, not now at least, they really hadn't learned anything yet from him, he however had learned quite a bit from them.

Razel bowed back. "Forgive our conversation Taiga-san, but you understand why everyone in the village is rather nervous. After all, with Jinchuriki you never know if they'll protect the village or destroy it in a rage. There are some people that are rather upset with us having two, they also believe that it could make us a target if the information leaks. I hope that you're training them to hide their...abilities," Razel finished up.

Kenshin looked directly at Taiga. Even though he was blind, Taiga always made it a point to look at people when they spoke. It was a better showing of respect than anything else he could do. He rested his arms on the desk and listened with intent as Taiga seemed to be ready to give his report. Kenshin had drawn his own conclusions, but he wanted to hear what Taiga had to say firsthand.

"I've spent time with each of them, but never for extended periods of time. What did you think about all of them, and what do you need from me to make sure their training goes smoothly?"

Taiga Mazaki

Taiga looked Razel square in the eye and replied, "Nope." He had no intention of teaching them to hide their abilities, any sensor trained enough would find their secret no matter how hard he trained them. It was a waste. "The Bijuu are a deterrent and I'm going to train my Jinnchuriki as such. I also have someone whose been trained to be an assassin, I'll finish that training, in kind as well."

Taiga made eye contact with the Tsuchikage, not that he could tell by looking. "I believe that The Shukaku Jinnchuriki, Ryoma, is stable and in full control of his powers at the time present, under light prodding he seemed doscile. He also seemed to be able to control and integrate the chakra from the Shukaku easily enough. I think so far that he's going to be the easiest case, and is showing great promise in the area of being a superb deterrent. Namely that he has the potential power and the best stability in the group."

"Next I got to test Yaiba Kongou, I believe Yaiba is the least stable of the group, under light prodding he revealed a second Personality, Itami. The look in his eyes changed from innocent kid to some who'd kill in cold blood for the fun of it." It was a look that Taiga had seen on the battlefield one too many times. "However this personality seems to be the result of a defense mechanism in the kids mind. I believe this second personality is a split consciousness. After careful thought, as opposed to trying to render one personality or the other moot, that I will train both personalities." Taiga was throwing the book out the window for this one. "Itami borders on Psychosis, but is able to follow my orders for now."

"The Kyuubi Jinnchuriki, Ami, is fairly stable, though I doubt that'll last through her first near death experience. She has very little manifestation of the Kyuubi within her, and I havn't noticed much of an increase in chakra compared to the other two, though I feel it may be because of her unusual biology. She's a thinker, and I think that she's already determined her role as a weapon of mass destruction and is pursuing her own goals in parallel with getting trained to handle such power, and unwrap its secrets. She's spent most of the training observing, planning, and analyzing. Of the two Jinnchuriki I believe she has the least potential in that she is strong willed and independent. Hopefully her willpower will be enough to bring the Kyuubi to bear."

Taiga looked to Razel again, he was going to love this part. "Currently, aside from Itami going off the deep end and stabbing people in their sleep, Team Eight poses little threat-from-within to the Village."

Kenshin Momoa

The Tsuchikage listened quietly as Taiga spoke each word. He needed varying opinions on these students, as they were three cases that Kenshin had never handled before. While he believed himself to be very bright, he didn't have knowledge over what these Jin could do. He needed to let others handle them in their own way. If Kenshin handled them directly, some might suspect he was using them in order to morph them in to his personal soldiers. No, Kenshin had to stay out of this.

"I don't understand," Razel said as he spoke. His tone was curiosity, he meant no ill will towards Taiga, and he had plenty of reason to be nervous. "You have two Jinchuriki on your team and you're convinced Itami, Yaiba, or whatever his name is can be the most dangerous? I don't understand why. He's just a boy that seems to be bipolar, what's so special about him?"

Taiga Mazaki

"Upon hearing that I was teaching the boy, I began to do my research. I read many psychological journals, and neurological studies about similar cases, but Yaiba's case in unprecedented, usually the alternate persona isn't as well formed, and if it is, there is much of the original persona in it. When the alternate persona takes over there are usually side effects, seizures and the like, not so with Yaiba. Also in the most similar case, the alternate personality decided to "take over" and destroyed everything externally related to the subject's main personality, in short he snapped and burned the house to the ground after stabbing friends and family members, to death." Taiga responded. "Itami's personality is completely different, there are no seizures, It's like they took a psycho and peeled him out of his own body and plugged him into Yaiba's head, except Itami knows his origin, and comes from within Yaiba's mind. His goal it would seem would be to take Yaiba's pain away. I fear to think what would happen if that goal was taken to its extreme logical conclusion, with the level of tactical training Itami seems to posses." Taiga shook his head, he was rambling.

"To sum it up. I know what the Bijuu are. They're a quantifiable Evil, there are enough books and knowledge on them to fill a small library. Itami is an unknown, and Yaiba is unstable. They have potential, both great and wicked."

Kenshin Momoa

"I see," Razel said as the understanding came to him. The Bijuu, while a problem, had been around for hundreds of years. There were entire studies on how to tame and manipulate the powers that came from each. Itami though, he was a different story. He was an entity born from the corruption and manipulation of chakra. There was no way of fully guessing if Itami was friend or foe, and for all they knew Itami didn't have Iwa's best interests at heart like Yaiba did. Training him was going to be quite the gamble.

Kenshin finally spoke up. "And should you find yourself concerned with Yaiba's safety, what exactly do you plan on doing to Itami? He's a part of Yaiba's mind, and we don't even know what would happen if we tried to interfere. Hell, we didn't even catch any of those bastards alive. None of them can even tell us exactly what was done to him," Kenshin remarked. "I do believe that he could be useful...but can I really jeapordize Yaiba's safety by this? If we push too hard, Itami might become the permanant vessal of someone else's body."

Taiga Mazaki

"I plan on taking the unorthodox path." Taiga responded to Kenshin's question, "Itami is the dominant personality, however Itami seems accumulate Mental Fatigue faster, leaving Yaiba in charge for the non-critical and non-threatening things. Hypothetically if Yaiba lived in a non-threatening no stress world Itami would ever surface. Likewise I'm going to train both Yaiba AND Itami as much as I can, perhaps even bring a little stability to both minds. If Itami becomes a serious problem I'll work on a Fuuinjutsu to seal Itami away. Otherwise, he's part of the team. Just as it could be said that the Shukaku and Kyuubi are part of the team."

Kenshin Momoa

"Just be careful Taiga. We have faith in you, but we can't run many risks here. It took a lot of my pull to get this team created, and we can't let it fall apart. If Itami is going to prove to be a problem, at the very least we will have to split him apart from the Jinchuriki," Kenshin said calmly before standing up and turning towards the window, the one that allowed him to see outside and look at the village.

"It's only been a few years since the village was completed, we can't have another disaster like that befall us again."

Taiga Mazaki

"Believe me when I say Tsuchikage-sama: The Villages health and well being are at the front edge of my thoughts, as they were when I accepted this assignment. They are also dwell in my mind as I teach my students, and I'm sure that such thought will be reflected in the finished product of their training."

Taiga had put a lot of thought into this assignment, more than any others before them. He was ready to make the Village proud.

Kenshin Momoa

"Your word has always been good enough for me," Kenshin said with a smile as he leand back in his chair. Taiga had always made sure to put his responsibilities first, something that Kenshin admired in anyone that had such qualities. "Is there anything that you believe needs to be covered before you go?" Kenshin asked.

Taiga Mazaki

"It is beyond me to question the wisdom of the Tsuchikage." Taiga responded. "However, I do not see wisdom in having both of the Bijuu in the village being trained by the same teacher. Symmetry breeds weakness, does it not?"

Kenshin Momoa

"Honestly? It's more of a gut feeling than anything else," Kenshin acknowledged. "Ultimately I wanted those two to be able to bond and relate to each other," he added before standing up and walking away from his desk. "Bijuu are smart creatures, and I believe that they can sense each other. More than anything else, I hope that this will calm them. At least they know that they aren't alone. I would have made it three on a team if it was possible, but we were lucky to get two as it was."

"Itami may be dangerous, but he's still not like the Bijuu. The potential for power is there, but it is very different."

Taiga Mazaki

"I'd like to think, that I know bullshit when I hear it." Taiga stated, "I'd also like to think that I know wisdom when I hear it too. I hadn't thought about it from the perspective of individual Bijuu being lonely. However. I believe I should take that into account when planning lessons from here on out." Taiga was fairly at home being open with the Tsuchikage, after all, the man was his late sensei's sensei. He respected the man, perhaps more than he deserved, but he also thought they were close enough not to mince words.

Kenshin Momoa

"We're trying something new Taiga. All the decisions we've made thus far can be changed if necessary," Kenshin admitted. "If you find that the bijuu together are becoming a problem, we will change that," Kenshin said before patting the man's shoulders. "We're entering in to a new age, and I want it to be a bright dawn for Iwa. We have suffered together as a people, and we are more loyal to each other than ever...but we still have a long way to go."

"Our people will be watching your team. Train them well, and make us all proud," Kenshin said before bowing his head. "I know that you will do well, your sensei always spoke highly of you."

Taiga Mazaki

"Policy is changing in the village then?" Taiga asked, wrapping his mind around the thought that change was coming, and he and his team would be at the middle of that change, it was a great honor and a lot of pressure. He hoped to live up and be able to change the course of history of the village.

"Thank you." Taiga bowed his head. "I am below such complements, but I will surpass them if that is what the Tsuchikage wishes."

This also meant that Taiga would have enemies that he didn't know about within the village, those who would be against the change in age old tradition. Traditionalists. The Jounin would scratch his chin and the stubble growing there. "Has there been any opposition?" Taiga asked, it would only be someone as close as Kenshin that could tell that he was worried. The worst enemies came from within.

Kenshin Momoa

"Policy changes with the time my friend. The earthquake destroyed us, but is also helped us to realize how strong we truly are. We are able to overcome the very earth beneath us, that is what kind of strength our ancestors had when they founded this village. We possess their strength as well," Kenshin said with a large grin.

"It hasn't been amazingly vocal, but I know it's there. Whether it's enough for someone to do anything about...that I can't say for sure."

"You have myself and my friends as allies Taiga," Razel chimed in. "Should I hear any word about your team, I promise that you will know as soon as the Tsuchikage does."

Taiga Mazaki

"Thank you. I will be counting on both of your support." Taiga bowed. "Is there anything Else that I need to know Lord Tsuchikage?" Taiga asked wondering their meeting was over. He needed to check up on his sick little puppies, he had after all discretely poisoned them with One Twentieth of a combat dose of Rock Adder Venom. Not very lethal, but they'd be suffering achy joints, neasuea, dry heaves, major head aches, and maybe diarrhea... if they had a big breakfast.

"For now no, just remember that you are not alone in this. You will be their trainer, but you can ask anyone in the village for whatever aid you may need. If you need supplies or weapons, I have already asked the merchants in town to help you at no charge to you," Kenshin stated before going tback to sitting at his desk.

"Now if you wouldn't mind Taiga, Razel and I do need to finish the conversation that we started. I look forward to checking in on your progress though."

With that Taiga made himself scarse, disappearing in a puff of dust. He'd just been handed the keys to the village, a lowly Jounin like him had the freedom to teach his Jinnchuriki and Assassin as he wanted to. He would shape them as best he could, to be the very best that he could.
